BØRNS for Spring Fling?

Spring Fling: May 1st, 2016. Save the date. That’s about all we know for sure right now. The concert board has been attempting to keep information on the DL until Battle of the Bands this Thursday, but the rumors are still making the rounds. Despite nothing being more than just a rumor, BØRNS appears to be a likely candidate for a performance.

BØRNS listed Tufts University as one of his many touring destinations, and although it has since been removed, many people are convinced that we will be seeing them come May 1st. So, as the musically illiterate person that I am, I checked out his music. And it’s pretty good.

My personal taste in music has a very wide range. Put my phone on shuffle and you could get anything from Broadway show tunes to Latin music to classic rock. It’s a bit of a disaster, but it’s better that way. So, being unaware of most of the music the hip young kids listen to nowadays, I had never heard of BØRNS (and I’m honestly still not sure if I should have at some point).

BØRNS, born Garrett Borns, is an indie pop artist who is fairly new to the scene. His songs have something that, in my opinion, makes him appeal to a wider range of audiences. His debut album, Dopamine, was released in 2015, with songs like “Electric Love” and “10,000 Emerald Pools.” Do I think his music is the best for Spring Fling? Not necessarily; it really comes down to taste. Still, it’s definitely music that you can dance to and really enjoy.

We still have to wait for any confirmation for the performers, including BØRNS, but information will ~hopefully~ be coming soon. While we wait (and even after), maybe ease up on the Spring Fling Concert Board, and get a little more patient, or at least pretend. Regardless of who performs, Spring Fling will be a blast, and we’ll definitely make the most of it!
