Happy Throwback Thursday everybody!
In honor of the 10th anniversary of “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” let me take you into the world of anime.
Dragonball Z (1996 – 2003)
Let’s start with a classic from childhood. “Dragonball Z” is a sequel to the original series that ran in the late ’80s. Both are based on the manga series and were adopted for television. The series follows Goku and his warrior friends who have to defend the world from their enemies.
One Piece (1999 – )
I’m throwing it back real good, guys. “One Piece” was and still is awesome to watch, especially if I want to relive my childhood every now and then. The anime series was also adapted from the manga series of the same title. The series follows the adventures of Luffy and his friends in order to find the greatest treasure ever left by the legendary Pirate Gol D Roger.
Yu-Gi-Oh! (2000 – 2004)
I bet every single one of you who is reading this had the cards game too. As with the other two anime series, “Yu-Gi-Oh!” was adapted from the manga series. The plot focuses on Yugi Moto, who completes the Millennium Puzzle and he inherits a spirit, an alter ego you can say known as Yami Yugi. With his friends Joey, Tristan, and Téa, Yugi fought many battles to become the King of Duels.
The Legend of Korra (2012 – 2014)
Is it too early to throw it back to Korra? I don’t think so. “The Legend of Korra,” the sequel to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” was an animated tv series from the U.S. that was heavily influenced by the Japanese style of animation. The series takes place 70 years after the original series, and follows Avatar Korra who is fighting to keep Republic City safe and to master her final element.
I hope you enjoyed this ride so far…and you are ready for what’s coming next…
